ビルマでは、僧侶によるデモが引き続き行われ、マンダレーでは約１万人が参加したという。ミリバンド英外相は、ビルマの軍事政権に対し、「ビルマの情勢が緊張しているときに、国連でタイミングよく協議することは、国際社会の関心をはっきりと示すことになる」と述べ、国連を含め国際社会の決然とした対応を求めたという。ビルマの軍事政権に関しては、来週にも国連総会で論議されるという。
