クーデターのあったホンジュラスでは、左派活動家らロジャー・バドス氏やラモン・ガルシア氏が殺害されているという。デモ参加者が銃殺されており、ラジオやテレビ局が放送停止とされ、記者が逮捕されているという報道がある。
米国に対しては、ラニー・デイビス氏やベネット・ラトクリフ氏らロビイストらの暗躍が批判されている。デイビス氏はラテンアメリカビジネス協会（ＣＥＡＬ）が、ラトクリフ氏は暫定政権が「雇用」しているという。
