The taxes put together amount to 40 trillion, and the governmental spending is 80 trillion yen. 40 trillion yen deficit, and this is not the end of the story. There is another 200 trillion yen budget coming out of nowhere, in the hands of bureaucrats. They borrow the money from Japan Post and other banks by issuing national bonds which amount to some 700 trillion yen, and paying interests out of our taxes of 18 trillion yen every year.

So how much could drivers earn a year? They could earn more than a million dollars if they are entitled as bureaucrats, whether doing garbage collection or driving a bus.

つまり、政治が「世論を裏切らない」という信頼が、民主主義を支えている。それは、官僚は増税するだけである。それ以外の動機を持たない。しかし、実際に数字を見ると本当に頭にくる。とんでもない金額が、しかも限度なく増えていく。
