The United State Congress passed the bill "North Korea Nonproliferation Act".
North Koreans are reportedly executed in public without trials. There was a report of the case that a North Koeran resident was executed because he stole copper wires. He was sentenced to death for the crime "stealing from the nation".
In "White Paper on Human Rights in North Korea", North Koreans, the human rights abuse cases are reported. A North Korean man was arrested by the secret police, who claimed "we can not stand this (society)" in a party. Later, he was sentenced to death.
The report states that the sentences for such crimes, are heavily affected by the status of the alleged criminals. The factors that matter are -- whether that person is a member of the communist party, his or her occupation, and the family traits.
Forced labor in the prison camp, is one of the way to compensate the alleged crime. There are the testimonies from the people from the North that the prisoners starved and beaten to death in the prison camp.
