There are "open-source" people who violate copyrights. And anybody would guess what happens if they do. Copyrights would not be protected. Business oriented people do protect copyrights only when it means some business -- and copyrights should go beyond. Think of it, who would buy modified books? Credibility is another issue. What of a publisher whose books, magazines, or webpages are modified to represent somebody else's opinion?
