The foreign ministry finally is ready to publish the names of the reporters in its press conferences.
→ 外務大臣会見記録
The press conferences have been closed only for the "reporter-club" members. It has been the only way to know what is really going on out there, open exclusively to the major media giants. As a result, what we got was a tiny portion of what has been discussed, talked about or questioned.
The foreign minister Okada suffered from media attacks after he let the reporters
come to his press conferences. What happened was really simple. From all those questions and answers, just quoted in the above page, what was in the news were the claims concerning whatever the comment the minister made for opening ceremony announcements of the Emperor.
Should it not be the time we should question -- whether what we hear, what we read from the news really reflect the real world?
