韓国政府は北朝鮮に対し、現金４０万ドルを支援するという。北朝鮮に対する現金支援による、中国を迂回した戦略物資供給は、北朝鮮への制裁を無にするものとして批判があるという。
「北朝鮮は支援して貰った金で核爆弾を作る。本当に不思議な国だ。その核で火の海にするとか言って脅迫しお金を引き出させようとする。拉致被害者には同情するがそれ以上に過去の精算とかの理由でお金を巻きあげられるから日本は気をつけなさい。 北朝鮮がお金を儲けられないのはきちがいじみた体制が原因だ。 その体制の恩恵を受けている金王朝が悪の権現だ。 自由化していれば韓国並の豊かな国になっていたはずだ。 乞食がるよりは自由化して金を沢山稼げるのに数人の人間の首を救う為国を貧乏国にしている。」というコメントがついている。

The sanction posed by the UN dictates that the UN will not let the North Korea's Kim Jeong Il regime buy sensitive materials, nor luxury items. The ban should apply to this South Korean government's cash aids to North Korea. The South Korean government is now trying to send money for the family reunion project, and it says the money is meant for the purchase of computers, LCD panels, buses and cars. The use of the money from South Korea is not specified and the aids violate the sanction terms as they are.
