Ankara, police killed suicide bomber

Ankara -- The Turkish police killed a suicide bomber suspect. An extremely violent militant group had attempted to carry out the assassination of the minister Giustizia, in the right center of Ankara, a little off the prime minister Tayyip Erdogan. According to the various testimony, the man sought to enter into the seat of the minister but the security system went on. At that point, he seemed to set explosives on, however before triggering the explosion, the police stopped him. He succeeded to escape and directed toward a park. The security forces have not documented the official reconstruction of the incident, limiting their statement that the suspect had two devices and he was identified as Eyup Beyaz, who has been wanted by the state since 2003. Beyaz, 25 years old, was a member of the largest underground extreme violent militant group, the Revolutionary People's Liberation Party-Front. First the TV identified him as Muharrem Akyurt, from the documents found on his body.

The story could create some embarrassment for the Ankara government which views to start a talk of its entry to the European Union in October. Surely the minister Giustizia Cemil Cecek seeks to make sure every critics asserts that the man must have been killed because he had a bomb. "The security forces -- said – first fired in the air but the agreesor continued to run toward the crowded bus terminal and had to shoot him down". Therefore Cecek assured that "Turkey will continue to make forward progress in human rights and in democrasy".

The Turkish authority intensified the anti-terrorist measure after the four attempts, which in November 2003 brought over 60 victims in Istanbul.
